The newly appointed young politician in Ukraine has officially announced his cryptocurrency assets, including a major investment in the Privacy-focused cryptocurrency Monero (XMR).
Rostyslav Solod, son of 19-year-old MP and politician Natalia Korolevska and Yuriy Solod, announced that the city of Kramatorsk had 185,000 XMR at the time of Translation, with a total value of about US $ 24.5 million.
According to the statement released on December 2, Solod bought his Monero savings in March 2015 when he was just 14 years old.
Monero was hovering at $ 0.50 at the time, which meant that the value of this deposit was approximately $ 90,000 when purchased. According to the statement, this acquisition cost Solod’s family 1.6 million hryvnia, or about $ 65,000. In the asset declaration, Solod’s Monero savings are stated as property.
The Ukrainian National Anti-Corruption Agency has prepared guidelines for Government officials to become crypto owners in March 2020. According to the guidance, Government officials are required to disclose the name, date of purchase, Amount and value of the assets on the last day of the reporting period.
