Asheesh Birla, CEO of RippleNet, described Bitcoin (BTC) as “a highly innovative gold alternative” in the Lend Academy post on November 5, however, adding that 2020 shows room for many tokens in the crypto space.
Birla said she believes Bitcoin is not trying to be used for “payments” and that the overwhelming dominance of the cryptocurrency is no longer certain as different projects have different uses:
“I BELIEVE THAT THE DAYS THAT ONLY CONSIDERED BITCOIN IN THE INDUSTRY ARE LEFT. I THINK THAT THERE WILL BE A LOT OF DIGITAL ASSETS AND THAT THERE WILL BE MANY TRADITIONAL ASSETS THAT WILL BE TOKENIZED AS DIGITAL ASSETS.“
RippleNet’s managing director made the above-mentioned statements when XRP was trading at just $ 0.25. The price of XRP has tripled since then, rose to $ 0.92 last week and then dropped 30 percent.
Birla said she thinks the crypto industry will rise again, although XRP did not show much movement at the time of the announcement.
