Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse Excited About Spark Token AirDrop
coinputin.com – Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said Flare had good reason to be excited about the launch of its smart contract system and the upcoming Spark token AirDrop for owners of the third-largest cryptocurrency.
In a new interview with CNN, Garlinghouse said Flare’s effort to bring smart contracts to the XRP Ledger demonstrates the flexibility and utility of digital assets. Garlinghouse stated that:
“This is a very exciting start. They do very interesting things with something called a Spark token. But it’s really different from what Ripple did. Seeing a company like Flare Networks and seeing them use the XRP network in a variety of ways is an opportunity to move forward, but it doesn’t affect RippleNet customers and how we use ODL (on-Demand Liquidity) for our customers.”
As for what the upcoming AirDrop will mean for XRP owners, Garlinghouse says investors are rightly excited about the possibilities:
“I think the owners of XRP are rightly excited about what Flare is doing. I’m excited about what Flare does, too. Every time you see a real helper solving a real problem-and I think Flare has created an interesting niche – I’m optimistic for this airdrop of Spark tokens. I met the management team. I think they are very talented and I think they have a clear vision of the problem they are going to solve.”
Ripple is an investor in Flare networks. Flare will make Spark token AirDrop on December 12 at a 1:1 ratio to XRP owners.
