China Will Distribute 3 Million Dollars Of Digital Yuan!
coinputin.com – The Chinese government will distribute 20 million digital yuan (about $ 3 million) in Suzhou.
According to an official announcement, the Suzhou government will distribute the digital currency, also known as the Digital Renminbi (RMB), exclusively through a lottery for Suzhou residents. Each winner will receive 200 digital Yuan (~ 30 dollars). The results are scheduled to be announced on December 11, 2020.
Winners December December 11-December 27 at local stores supporting China’s central bank digital currency, or e-commerce giant JD.com at Winners will also be able to use digital yuan to shop offline at certain vendors in Suzhou.
China Continues Its Work
China continues its experiments with publicly traded digital yuan. In October 2020, 10 million digital RMB was distributed to 50,000 people in Luohu region through “red envelopes” in Shenzhen. Participants received 200 RMB in just one week and spent 8 million RMB. In November 2020, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of digital coins at the G20 summit.
