Celebrity billionaire: Bitcoin (BTC) is more like religion than a solution
Bitcoin is now above its old record high of $ 20,000. But Mark Cuban, the billionaire tech entrepreneur and investor and owner of Dallas Mavericks Mark Cuban, maintains his stance against the leading cryptocurrency. He has said in the past that he would “rather have bananas” than BTC, and now he is doubling down on his skepticism, saying that Bitcoin is religion rather than a solution everyone needs.
A year ago, when Bitcoin topped $ 10,000 in the middle of the year, Mark Cuban answered questions posed to him on Twitter, one of which was about the first cryptocurrency. Cuban said he would rather have bananas than have Bitcoin, he added:
“Bananas have more benefits and contain potassium, a valuable nutrient for everyone on the planet.”
It’s not the first time an investor has commented negatively on cryptocurrency. Recently, Forbes once again asked Cuban for his thoughts. Cuban, on the other hand, criticized Bitcoin fans, saying that cryptocurrency is “more like religion than a solution” and added:
“As much as bitcoin fans want to pretend it’s a countermeasure to doomsday scenarios, it’s not. Countries will take steps to protect their currencies and their ability to tax, so the more people believe that this is more than a store of value, the higher the risk of government intervention they face.”
